GARBAHAREY, Somalia – Kenyan military warplanes were reported to have conducted a series of bombings in the Gedo region in southern Somalia.
The KDF fighter jets bombed Khadijo Haji and Buusaar areas in the border region.
Speaking to Shabelle Media Network via phone, Mohamed Aden, a resident said the shelling caused casualties to civilians. The number of casualties is still unknown.
The Somali government and Jubaland are yet to comment on the airstrike by Kenyan forces in Gedo as local residents called for an end to the ongoing crisis in the region.
Kenyan military often carries out frequent attacks in parts of Jubaland, inflicting heavy casualties on civilians.
