GARISSA [SMN] – The Kenyan army said they killed 12 Al-Shabaab fighters in the Garissa district after an operation they carried out yesterday.
A statement from the command of the Kenya Defense Forces [KDF] announced that the operation targeted a campsite for members of Al-Shabaab in the North East region.
The operation was also carried out with weapons such as light guns, PKM, one bomb, and a lot of ammunition, according to the press release of the Kenyan military.
The Kenyan army captured the life of one of the fighters, while ten others escaped from the scene of the operation, crossing the Somali border.
Kenya has recently increased border security operations and is at war with Al-Shabaab members who carry out attacks inside the country.
