Lower House speaker delivers keynote speech at South Africa summit


JOHANNESBURG [SMN] – Lower House Speaker Sheikh Adan Madobe participated in the 11th Conference of Speakers of Parliament which opened in Johannesburg, South Africa.


In his keynote speech, Aden Madobe said the continent is facing the impact of climate change that caused drought and food insecurity while the countries suffer from Covid-19.

He called for the establishment of laws that strengthen production and mitigates the effects of Covid-19 and the climate change crisis.

Madobe highlighted the importance of closer cooperation in order to find a solution to the repeated droughts in Africa.

The Lower House speaker of Somalia Madobe insisted that the African parliament fulfill what they promised to the people of the continent to increase production and farming.
