Mortar shelling reported around Somali palace


MOGADISHU [SMN] – Several mortar rounds struck outside Villa Somalia, the heavily guarded presidential palace in Mogadishu on Tuesday.


Witnesses said the shells rained down on residential buildings located near the state house with reports that a number of civilians were wounded.

It is unknown where the mortars are coming from and who fired, however, the police said the situation was under control.
