MOGADISHU – The Prime Minister of Somalia Hamza Abdi Barre has today officially started work at the OPM after taking over from Mohamed Hussein Roble Tuesday.
Barre, who was appointed on May 15th, will work on how to nominate his cabinet.
The Prime Minister has previously served as MP and the Chairman of the Electoral Commission for the election of Jubbaland President Ahmed Madobe.
He has a number of tasks ahead that need to be addressed, such as managing foreign relations, youth unemployment, and other issues important to Somalia’s governance.
In the coming days, Barre is expected to hold meetings with the country’s political stakeholders before appointing his cabinet.
