New UAE ambassador presents his credentials to Somali FM

MOGADISHU [SMN] – The United Arab Emirates [UAE] sent a new ambassador to Somalia months after a new president was elected in the Horn of Africa country.

 

The new diplomat Amb. Ahmed Juma Al Rumaithi handed over his credentials to Somalia’s foreign affairs minister Abshir Omar Haruse at the ministry in Mogadishu on Sunday.

Th two sides discussed the bilateral relations between Somalia and UAE and ways to boost them, according to a statement issued by the ministry of foreign affairs.

The UAE has been a key partner of Somalia and contributed to the army rebuilding and humanitarian relief efforts as the country faced its worts drought in 40 years.
