ABU DUBAI (SMN) – Somalia’s defense minister Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur arrived in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates’ capital.
The minister’s visit came after receiving an invitation from the government of the UAE.
Upon arrival at the Abu Dhabi Airport, the Somali minister was accorded a warm welcome from senior officials from the ministry of defense and the armed forces of the UAE.
During his stay, the defense minister will hold talks with UAE officials on bilateral relations and cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
The war on Al-Shabaab is expected to dominate the talks between UAE and Somalia.
Abu Dhabi is one of the nations supporting Somalia in the rebuilding of the country and the humanitarian issues as 8 million people now face hunger after drought.
