MOGADISHU – The leaders of Somalia, Kenya, Djibouti, and Ethiopia have wrapped up an hours-long meeting in Mogadishu on Wednesday under heavy security measures.
The presidents of Somalia Hassan Sheikh, Kenya, Ruto, Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh, and Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed agreed on joint military steps against Al-Shabaab militants.
The united front is aimed at averting future infiltrating of Al-Shabaab elements into the Horn of Africa region after being dispelled from Somalia, according to a communique.
In a 15-point discussed solutions, the summit also requested international partners to support Somalia’s stabilization efforts in the newly liberated areas.
