Somali military court hands down a sentence against a soldier

MOGADISHU [SMN] – The military court in Galmudug has today convened to hear and decide on the case of Abdirahman Abdullahi Ahmed Tohow (Tagane) of the 18th Battalion of the 6th Gor Gor Brigade, who is accused of killing a soldier.

The murder took place in GorGor base on the outskirts of Dhusamareb on December 16 last year against the named soldier Nuradin Deek Mohamed from the same camp.

The chairman of the Galmudug Armed Forces Court of Appeal, General Abdullahi Abukar Hassan, closed the case and announced the verdict, which ruled that Abdirahman Abdullahi Mohamed Tohow (Tagane) was guilty of the murder.

He also said he had been sentenced to 15 years in prison and 100 camels in compensation for the murder.
