Somali police denies deputy house speaker barred from travel

MOGADISHU [SMN] – The Somali Police explained the reasons behind the denial of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of the People, Abdiweli Mudey from leaving Mogadishu.

Police spokesman Abdifatah Aden Hassan told the media that Mudey was carrying a large contingent of troops and weapons, which led to barring from the plane to Barawe.

Hassan also pointed out that Mudey was not specifically targeted, but he violated the security protocols at the security.

He called on all candidates to maintain stability, noting that the police forces are responsible for the country’s overall security.
