Somali president Hassan Sheikh leaves for Djibouti

MOGADISHU [SMN] – The President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is scheduled to travel to Djibouti today for talks with his counterpart Ismail Omar Guelleh.

 

Hassan Sheikh’s trip is to participate in the closing ceremony of the Heritage Conference, which has been going on for the past few days in the capital of the country, Djibouti.

Officials of the Federal Government including Ministers, MPs, and former leaders attended the opening of the annual Heritage meeting.

Somali researchers who have been working on climate change, drought, and how Somalis have been invited to the meeting of the Somali forum in Djibouti this year.

The president is expected to proceed to Washington, where he will attend the US-Africa summit in mid this month, according to the reports.
