MOGADISHU [SMN] – Somalia on Thursday marked the fourth anniversary of a terrible truck bombing in the heart of Mogadishu that killed well over 550 people and injured hundreds of others.

Many people gathered at the Oct 14 memorial with prayers for the victims of the attack which is ranked one of the world’s deadliest.

The Oct. 14, 2017 bombing has changed the face of the capital as Somalia is considered a dangerous place in Africa with foreigners remained holed up in the Halane compound.

Somali and AU troops have pushed Al-Shabaab out of their most strongholds but the group remained a potent threat to national security.
