Speaker Mursal retains his MP seat in Baidoa election

BAIDOA [SMN] – Former Speaker of the House of the People of Somalia Mohamed Mursal Sheikh Abdirahman has been re-elected following today’s election in Baidoa.

Mursal received 88 votes, defeating Feisal Ibrahim Hassan, who did not receive any votes and 12 votes invalid, according to the election commission.

Mursal became the first member of parliament to be elected in Baidoa, and once again he defended the HOP182 seat in the Somali Parliament.

Elections will also continue in the regional states and other seats are set to be elected in the coming days.
