BELEDWEYNE [SMN] – At least ten people are reportedly killed and dozens wounded in two explosions in central Somalia on Monday morning.
The blasts were used lorry trucks packed with explosives and the main target was Lama-Galay base camp, which hosts top HirShabelle state officials, including president Gudlawe.
HirShabelle’s health minister Dr Zakariye Hurre and Hiran deputy governor Abukar Madey on security and finance were among the ten lost their lives in the Al-Shabaab.
The other key figures wounded in the suicide blasts, include HirShabelle’s Darwish forces’ commander Ahemd Dirir and Mataban’s deputy DC Abdikafi Shire.
The attack becomes the deadliest by Al-Sahbaab since the government launched an all-out offensive against the militant group.
