MOGADISHU [SMN] – At least one person has been killed and two others injured in a car bomb blast in Mogadishu on Saturday night.
A car bomb has exploded near the Baar Ubah intersection in Mogadishu.
Howlwadag District Police Commander Najib Abdi Abib (Najib Arab) told the media that the vehicle rammed into a military checkpoint at the Carwa Idko intersection, then exploded as Somali security forces pursued it.
The commander confirmed that only the driver lost his life in the blast.
Security forces have stepped up security in the Banaadir region, during the election season.
