Southwest state elects new MPs in Baidoa city

BAIDOA [SMN] – In Baidoa, the election of five seats in the lower house of parliament is underway, and some candidates have emerged victorious.

Abdirashid Mohamed Nur won the Hop#175 seat in the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia in Baidoa today.

Lawmaker Abdirashid received 70 votes, while his rival Adan Mohamed Ibrahim received 22 votes and lost by three votes.

Also, Mohamed Barre Mohamud won the Hop#159 seat in parliament, receiving 72 votes, while his rival Abdullahi Mohamed Isak received 23 votes.
