Somali PM flies to Egypt for AfDB’s 2023 Annual Meeting

MOGADISHU [SMN] – The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, and a high-level delegation he is leading have left today for the city of Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt.

 

The Prime Minister will be attending a summit by the African Development Bank which seeks a way out of the effects of climate change on the poverty-stricken continent.

African Development Bank (AfDB) Group’s Annual Meeting provides a framework for the governors of the Bank Group to share their experiences in mobilizing domestic and international private sector financing.

According to the bank, the theme of this year’s event highlights climate change as a growing threat to lives and livelihoods in Africa.

The participants include Central Bank Governors, national and international financial institutions, and economic, environmental, and energy experts among others.

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre is accompanied by members of his cabinet and MPs.
