Tens of thousands of Students Sit for Unified National Exams in Somalia

MOGADISHU [SMN] – Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama inaugurated the unified National Secondary School examinations in most parts of Somalia on Saturday morning.

 

34,000 students are undertaking the mass exam conducted by the Federal Government of Somalia across the country, except Puntland, according to the Education Ministry.

The number of students examined has steadily grown in the last six years, from 20,000 students in 2016 to 24,600 this year, a move that shines the future of the war-torn nation.

The Somali National Security Forces, specifically the Somali Police, are providing security and ensuring the safety of the 114 centers where the throngs of enthusiastic students have convened to determine their future.

Speaking to the media, Deputy Prime Minister commended the students in the Benadir region, HirShabelle, Southwest, Jubaland, and Galmudug states to do their best, wishing them success in their examination.

A notable development is gaining traction across the country evidently and progress is steady and commendable, thanks to the government which is paying tireless efforts.
