DOLOW, Somalia (SMN) – The Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Shabaab militants carried out a yet another daring attack in Somalia amidst preparation for final anti-Al-Shabaab push.
The Friday morning assault occurred in the vicinity of Dolow near Somalia’s porous border with Kenya, where Al-Shabaab targeted a key SNA base, according to the residents.
“We woke up to the sound of explosions and sustained gunfire at Somali military base in Geedweyne area after Al-Shabaab attack,” said a local resident who spoke to Shabelle radio by phone.

Both sides suffered heavy losses but number remains unverified. It’s an attack that AlShabab aimed to send a message to Somali government and Kenya, per a security expert.
