A witch who raped women in Somalia given 10 years in prison

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Banadir regional court sentenced an old man to 10 years in prison on charges related to the use of witchcraft to rape many women, including wives.

 

The man whose name was given as Mohamed Hassan Shooble, 52 years old raped the women and recorded videos of them during the Sex Offense, according to the judges.

After a long investigation, the court slapped the rapist with 10 years of imprisonment. His witchcraft and magic were his tools to commit the crimes.

The prosecutor’s office accused Shooble of specifically targeting the weak and poor women who posted videos on social media asking the people of Somalia for financial support.

The trial had been going on for a while through three different sessions, and some of the victims were brought before to testify during the proceedings.

In conclusion, the chairman of the Banadir Regional Court, Salah Ali Dabaan, finally found the man guilty of the three crimes and sentenced him to 10 years in prison on Wednesday.
