DHUSAMAREB (SMN) – As part of the mobilization of the local people to join the war on Al-Shabaab, President Hassan Sheikh continues a series of meetings in Dhusamareb city.
On Monday, the head of the state held talks with traditional elders, politicians, and representatives from Galmudug state led by the regional leader Ahmed Abdi Karie Qor-Qor.
The aim of the meeting, according to Villa Somalia was to discuss ways to speed up the plans to launch the operation completing the first phase of the war against Al-Shabaab.
The president has urged the participants of the meeting to work closely with the government in the efforts to re-liberate the remaining areas in Galmudug from Al-Shabaab.
This comes as troops from the government, Americans, and local fighters are moving closer to key Al-Shabaab areas, including Elbur and Galhareri towns, which are situated in Galmudug.
Somali president has been in Dhusamareb for the past weeks, where to coordinates the fight against Al-Shabaab. His presence boosted the morale of the troops and the local community.
