Somali President receives credentials from new Italian ambassador

MOGADISHU, Somalia – Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud received diplomatic credentials from a new Italian ambassador Pier Mario Daccò Coppi in Mogadishu.

 

President Mohamud received credentials from Pier Mario Daccò Coppi at an event held at the Presidential Palace, known as Villa Somalia, with the foreign minister’s presence.

The ambassador shared with the President messages from the Italian president, demonstrating the efforts to strengthen their relationship with the Somali government.

During the short meeting, both discussed strengthening diplomatic relations between Italy and the Federal Government of Somalia and cooperation in all fields of mutual interests.

Finally, Mr. Mohamud has emphasized the importance of strengthening ties amid efforts by Somalia’s government to rebuild and develop the Horn of Africa country.
