KISMAYO, Somalia – The Minister of Security of the Jubaland, Yusuf Hussein Dhumal has declared that they are prepared for a war on Al-Shabaab and liberate it from all regions.
Speaking in Kismayo port city, Minister Dhumaal said that in the coming days, the operations will officially begin, and the operations will take place in the Juba area.
“The operations that will begin soon will be led by the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who has been on the front lines for months,” said Jubaland Security Minister.
The minister’s statement comes at the same time, the government of Somalia is in the final preparation of the second phase of the military operation to regain the missing territories.
Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has already said that the second phase of the operation against Al Shabaab will begin in the Jubaland and Southwest administrations.
Al-Shabaab controls the entire Middle Jubba region in Jubaland and continues lethal attacks in the government-controlled towns which shows the group is still strong and active.
