HARGEISA, Somalia – An independent autopsy of the body of Abdinadir Muse Dahable at Hargeisa General Hospital, revealed that he was tortured and strangled to death by rope.
Director General of the Hospital Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed Osman, who spoke to the media, said that a lot of torture signs were found on Dahable’s body during the exam.
“After a 48-hour investigation, we found out the following results, that he was strangled with a thick rope, which was held around his neck for 5 to 7 minutes, that his right jaw was broken, and his left eye was wounded,” said Director Abdirahman Mohamed Osman.
He also said that many wounds are visible on Dahabal’s body, which he said shows that he was defending himself before he died. He said that his tongue and teeth were stuck together, which shows that he was fighting.
He said that Dahable’s body was violated before it was brought to Hargeysa, and the power to the air conditioner was cut off for the last three days he was in Hamar, which he described as a big crime.
He said that the electricity was cut off from the refrigerator so that when the body changed, the injuries could not be seen, so it would not be possible to conduct another examination.
The director said that the investigation they did was independent and the government had nothing to do with it, and the Dahable family said they requested the investigation from the hospital.
