MOGADISHU, Somalia – In a meeting today, the Prime Minister discussed the urgent climate crisis in Somalia with Mafalda Duarte, Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund.
They emphasized the crucial need for comprehensive action and support in Somalia’s Climate Change endeavors.
Despite minimal global emissions, albeit Somalia is at the forefront of the victim countries of climate change with severe drought and floods as a result of climate change, underscoring the vital significance of climate resilience.
Prime Minister Barre noted that the Somali government has implemented a whole government approach and a strategic plan focusing on both mitigation and adaptation measures.
