Beledweyne, Somalia — Troops from the Somali National Army departed from Beledweyne, the capital of the Hiran region, on Wednesday, heading towards the border between Hiran and Middle Shabelle.

The government troops are tasked with intervening in the ongoing conflict between tribal militias and launching operations against the Al-Shabaab group in the area.

The border between Hiran and Middle Shabelle has recently been a hotspot for clashes among tribal militias, prompting the Somali National Army to step in and restore order. The troops will work to de-escalate tensions and prevent further violence in the region.

Additionally, the Somali National Army will initiate operations against Al-Shabaab in the border areas. This move is aimed at curbing the group’s activities and preventing attacks that have plagued the region in the past. The army’s intervention is a crucial step in securing the safety and stability of the area.

The Somali National Army’s actions come at a time when many regions of the country are grappling with communal conflicts, some of which have escalated into serious battles resulting in casualties.

The army’s presence and intervention in the border conflict and against Al-Shabaab are expected to bring much-needed relief to the affected areas and contribute to the broader efforts to maintain peace and security in Somalia.

As the situation continues to evolve, the international community stands ready to support the Somali government in its efforts to combat terrorism and promote stability in the region.
