Somali PM Visits Kismayo to Accelerate Counter-Al-Shabaab Operations

KISMAYO, Somalia – Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Hamza Abdi Barre, arrived in Kismayo on Tuesday, where he was warmly welcomed by the President of Jubaland State, Ahmed Madobe, and other officials.

 

During his visit, Prime Minister Barre is expected to hold discussions with state leadership and members of the public regarding the acceleration of operations aimed at eliminating terrorists in the region.

The arrival of Prime Minister Barre in Kismayo underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining security and stability in the area, particularly in light of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism.

The consultations will provide an opportunity for the Prime Minister to gain insights from local authorities and the community, ensuring that the government’s actions are aligned with the needs and perspectives of the people.

“The leaders celebrated recent victories and affirmed the unwavering resolve of SNA to eliminate the terrorist threat,” said Somalia’s defense ministry.
