The Heavy fighting erupted after Al-Shabaab fighters attacked a military base in Kulbiyow area, that inflicted losses on the two sides.
Local sources also told us that the fighting lasted for several hours and that there was a great deal of fear.
It is not clear the exact number of casualties in the fighting and the previous attack, as the site of the attack is a military base and it is difficult to get information.
Al-Shabaab and AMISOM officials have not yet commented on the fighting.
The situation is also tense, with Kenyan forces in the area fighting.
