CAIRO – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Macallin Fiqi, has thanked the Egyptian government for its strong stance in protecting Somalia’s territorial integrity and independence.
The statement comes as tensions rise over a maritime agreement between Ethiopia and the northern regions of Somaliland, which Egypt has openly opposed.
At a joint press conference in Cairo with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to upholding Somalia’s nationalism and territorial sovereignty.
