SoDMA Commissioner Encourages Participation in Upcoming First Aid Training Programs

MOGADISHU, Somalia  – Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim, the head of the Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) urged staff and volunteers to take advantage of the upcoming first aid training programs.

 

These training sessions, organized by SoDMA in collaboration with the Red Crescent, are set to begin next week on Monday.

The initiative aims to equip SoDMA staff and volunteers with essential first aid skills, enabling them to respond effectively to emergencies and disasters. The training will cover a range of topics, including basic life support, wound care, and emergency response procedures.
Commissioner Moallim emphasized the importance of the training, stating, “In our line of work, every second counts. The more skilled our team is, the better we can serve our community in times of crisis.” He encouraged all staff and volunteers to attend the training, highlighting the potential life-saving impact of their participation.
The Red Crescent, known for its expertise in disaster response and humanitarian aid, will lead the training sessions. The organization has a long history of providing critical support in emergency situations, and their involvement in this initiative is expected to enhance the effectiveness of the training.
