Al-Shabaab launches a mortar attack on government and Djiboutian military bases in the Bulo-Burte district.
Residents say some of the mortars fell inside the bases, but it is not yet clear what the exact number of casualties was.
AMISOM forces, particularly the Djiboutian contingent, responded with artillery fire and launched a major operation after the attack.
The situation is now tense and the attack is coming at a time when the commander of the armed forces, the vice president of HirShabelle, and other officials have arrived in Bulo-Burte.
