MOGADISHU, Somalia – Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre held talks with Slovenia’s Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon, in a move aimed at bolstering ties between Somalia, Slovenia, and the European Union at large.
The discussions, focused on enhancing cooperation on a range of issues including climate change, security, civilian protection, and women’s security, underscore a deepening diplomatic relationship between the two nations and the EU.
Slovenia, which currently holds a seat on the United Nations Security Council, has expressed its support for Somalia as it prepares to join the Council in January 2025.
The meeting underscores a mutual commitment to addressing global challenges and enhancing peace and security efforts, signaling a promising avenue for increased cooperation and strategic partnership in international relations and governance.
