Somali Government forces on the outskirts of Ba’adweyne in the South of Mudug region on Friday morning foiled a suicide attack aimed at targeting an army base, officials said.
The driver of the vehicle was reportedly shot dead by the Somali National Army, and the car exploded around the military base.
According to reports, only the driver of the vehicle was killed in the blast, and troops conducted a large-scale operation after the foiled attack.
Also, the Somali National Army and Galmudug Darwish are conducting joint operations in the Ba’adweyne area of the Mudug region to flush out the militants from their hideouts.
