CAIRO – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud and a high-level delegation headed by his chairmanship, made an official visit to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in response to the official invitation by His Excellency the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mr. Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi.
The presidents look to strengthen joint efforts to combat terrorism and how accelerate cooperation in security and peace in the region.
The presidents also stressed the need to develop economic relations and uplift the level of trade and investment, prioritizing the two governments to enhance opportunities for economic cooperation and development.
President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud thanked His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for the warm reception and said that the Egyptian government always stood by the side of Somalia, noting that the relationship between the two countries is based on brotherhood, strategic cooperation, and common interests of the two peoples.
