MOGADISHU, Somalia – Somali President Hassan Sheikh today presided over the Somalia–EU Partnership Meeting in Mogadishu — the third round since the launch of the Joint Operational Roadmap in May 2023.
This meeting reaffirms the strength and continuity of the vital relationship that has spanned years between Somalia and the European Union.
Building on the momentum of the inaugural 2023 meeting with EU ambassadors in Mogadishu, today’s engagement underscored our shared commitment to advancing Somalia’s progress in democratization, security, and socio-economic development.
The President reiterated the Federal Government’s steadfast determination to sustain inclusive political dialogue, including the recently announced national dialogue, to collectively defeat the Kharijites and drive Somalia forward on a path of unity and resilience.
Somalia deeply values the EU’s consistent support throughout our state-building journey. Together, we remain committed to a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous future for our nation.
