MOGADISHU, Somalia – The head of Somalia’s Disaster Management Agency, Mohamed Moallim Abdulle, and Dr. Abdullahi Muuse Ahmed, the Director of Health at SoDMA, visited the Somali National Army’s Military Hospital in Mogadishu on Thursday.
Moallim met with the hospital’s director, Sadam Abdullahi Osman, to discuss the medical treatment of soldiers wounded in recent clashes with Al-Shabaab militants.
After the meeting, the SoDMA boss toured the hospital’s wards, where he visited soldiers who had been injured in fighting with Al-Shabaab in the Wargaadhi and Labi-goley areas of the Middle Shabelle region. The soldiers were wounded in combat the day before.
Moallim, who also serves on the National Committee for Supporting the War Against Al-Shabaab and ISIS, presented the hospital with emergency medical supplies and a rescue vehicle to support the care of soldiers engaged in the country’s ongoing battle for liberation.
In addition, the Somali disaster management head praised the sacrifices made by the soldiers on the frontlines and acknowledged their achievements in fighting Al-Shabaab.
He concluded by pledging continued support to enhance the medical services and care for the soldiers working to defeat Al-Shabaab and restore stability to Somalia.
