DJIBOUTI — Somalia’s President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, arrived in Djibouti on Monday for a high-level meeting with Djibouti’s President, Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, Villa Somalia said.
The two leaders are expected to discuss ways to strengthen the longstanding ties and strategic partnership between the neighboring countries.
Key topics on the agenda include security cooperation, economic collaboration, political coordination, and efforts to enhance stability in the Horn of Africa region.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s visit highlights the importance Somalia places on its relationship with Djibouti, particularly Djibouti’s critical role in regional security and in promoting trade and investment.
The talks will also focus on deepening bilateral cooperation, advancing development projects, and coordinating initiatives to stabilize the broader region.
Officials say the meeting is anticipated to be historic, reinforcing the strategic alliance between the two nations and paving the way for expanded collaboration in the future.
