Dhusamareb, Somalia, Aug 11 – The Vice President of Somalia’s Galmudug State, Ali Dahir Eid, met Monday with senior commanders of the African Union Support Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) at the regional presidential palace in Dhusamareb.
The meeting focused on strengthening security cooperation, intensifying the fight against al-Shabaab militants, and enhancing the operational capacity of AUSSOM forces operating across the Galmudug region.
Vice President Eid praised the Somali National Army and Galmudug’s Darwish forces for their contributions to recent military gains, noting that security conditions in the region have significantly improved compared to previous months.
The AUSSOM Sector-4 commander commended the Galmudug leadership for its continued cooperation and reaffirmed the mission’s commitment to joint operations aimed at stabilizing the region.
Both sides agreed to accelerate coordinated military campaigns against the al-Qaeda-linked group, with large-scale operations expected to begin soon in various parts of Galmudug.
