BELED HAWO, Somalia (SMN) — A delegation from Somalia’s Disaster Agency (SoDMA), led by Director General Abdirashid Mohamud Hassan, arrived in Beled Hawo, Gedo region.
The delegation was received at the UK military camp by the district commissioner, Somali army officers, and other regional and local officials.
SoDMA says the visit aims to evaluate humanitarian needs weeks after hundreds were displaced by recent fighting in the town.
Director Abdirashid and his team will also oversee the distribution of emergency aid to affected communities.
A meeting is underway to coordinate the humanitarian response and address urgent needs in conflict-affected areas.
SoDMA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting victims and working with partners to deliver timely assistance and strengthen emergency response efforts.
