Las Anod, Somalia – The President of Somalia’s Northeastern Federal Member State, Abdulqadir Ahmed Aw-Ali Firdhiye, received the Chairman of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, during an official visit to the regional capital, Las Anod.
The meeting, held at the State House, was attended by the regional Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Abdirisak Hindi, and focused on strengthening coordination in humanitarian response, emergency aid, and the delivery of basic social services.
President Firdhiye welcomed the SoDMA delegation and emphasized the importance of close collaboration between federal institutions and regional administrations to address the urgent needs of communities affected by crises.
As part of the visit, Chairman Abdulle also met with the Speaker of the Northeastern State Parliament, Adan Abdullahi Aw-Hasan, as well as the region’s Vice President, Abdirashid Yusuf Jabril.
Talks centered on deepening cooperation in emergency response mechanisms and improving access to essential services for vulnerable populations.
The meetings are part of broader efforts to establish a coordinated and effective humanitarian response framework across the region, amid ongoing challenges.
