KISMAAYO, Somalia – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Kismaayo on Sunday, the administrative capital of the Jubaland regional state, for a series of high-level consultations on the country’s ongoing state-building process.
Upon arrival, President Mohamud was warmly welcomed at Kismaayo Airport by Jubaland President Ahmed Madobe, accompanied by senior regional officials and local residents.
During his visit, the Somali President is expected to hold key talks regarding national unity, federalism, and strengthening collaboration between the federal government and Somalia’s regional states.
The consultations are part of the federal government’s broader efforts to promote understanding and cooperation across the country, with the aim of ensuring a prosperous future for all Somali citizens.
The visit also aligns with the government’s plan to unify political perspectives and accelerate critical political agreements aimed at bolstering peace and development in Somalia.
The Somali President and his delegation are scheduled to meet with Jubaland leaders, with a focus on strengthening relations between the central government and regional authorities.
Since assuming office, President Mohamud has been instrumental in implementing political reforms aimed at consolidating state institutions and advancing peace across the nation.
