EACCON 2025 Summit Opens in Mogadishu to Boost East African Economic Cooperation

Mogadishu — The East African Community Cooperation Economic Conference (EACCON 2025) officially opened on Thursday in Mogadishu, with over 350 delegates from member states gathering to discuss regional economic integration and development.

 

This year’s conference focuses on enhancing cooperation and boosting the production sector across East African Community (EAC) countries to drive economic growth and trade within the region.

Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud inaugurated the event, emphasizing Somalia’s commitment to playing a key role in advancing economic development and fostering closer ties among member states.

The summit is attended by national leaders, ministers, and international delegations, who are expected to explore ways to strengthen trade, investment, and economic relations across the bloc.
