Mogadishu, Oct 7 — Somalia’s Deputy Minister of Defence, Omar Ali Abdi, and Deputy Commander of the Somali National Army, Major General Maday Nuurey Ufurow, welcomed Swedish Defence Minister Pål Jonson and his delegation at Aden Adde International Airport.
The Swedish delegation arrived in Mogadishu for an official visit aimed at strengthening defence and security cooperation between Somalia and Sweden.
During his stay, Minister Jonson is scheduled to hold talks with Somali federal government officials, including Somalia’s Defence Minister, Ahmed Macallin Fiqi, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral collaboration in defence and security sectors.
The visit underscores ongoing efforts by both countries to deepen their partnership, focusing on military training, security support, and strategic cooperation to promote stability in Somalia and the broader region.
