RIYADH – Somalia’s Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Farah Nour, held talks on Wednesday in Riyadh with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in aviation and transport.
The meeting focused on enhancing connectivity between the two countries, including discussions on launching direct and regular flights between Somalia and Saudi Arabia, officials said.
Minister Nour described the talks as “productive,” highlighting the importance of building a collaborative partnership that benefits both nations and their citizens.
The two ministers agreed to establish a technical committee tasked with implementing agreements and advancing joint initiatives in the fields of air transport and logistics.
The visit is part of Somalia’s broader push to deepen regional cooperation and improve trade and mobility with key partner countries in the Gulf and beyond.
