Turkish security delegation arrives in Mogadishu to boost cooperation

MOGADISHU – A high-level Turkish security delegation arrived in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Tuesday to strengthen bilateral cooperation on security and policing, Somali officials said.

 

The delegation was led by Ünsal Hayal, commander of Turkey’s Special Forces, and included Foreign Affairs Director Gökhan Demirtola and Deputy Foreign Affairs Director Turgay Olgun.

The officials were formally received at Aden Adde International Airport by senior officers from the Somali Police Force.

According to Somali authorities, the visit aims to boost security cooperation, deepen bilateral ties between Turkey and Somalia, and expand collaboration in the policing sector.

The Turkish delegation is expected to hold talks with senior Somali government officials during their stay, focusing on security coordination and strategic partnership.
