Somalia interior security minister meets police graduates in Qatar

Doha — Somalia’s Interior Security Minister Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail, known as Fartaag, met in Qatar with officers of the Somali Police Force who have recently graduated from the Qatar Police Academy, officials said.

 

During the meeting, the minister congratulated the officers on successfully completing their studies, praising their commitment, resilience and high level of professionalism.

He underlined the importance of internationally trained officers in leading efforts to strengthen and modernise Somalia’s security institutions.

Fartaag urged the graduates to apply the knowledge and experience gained at the academy to national defence, the development of the Somali Police Force and service to the public, stressing that improved policing was key to boosting security and public trust.

The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by the federal government to enhance training standards, institutional quality and international cooperation within Somalia’s security sector.
