Somali, Saudi officials discuss ties on sidelines of OIC meeting in Riyadh

RIYADH — Somalia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ali Mohamed Omar, met with Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Waleed Al-Khuraiji, on the sidelines of a ministerial-level meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

 

The meeting took place during a special open-ended executive committee session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, where participants discussed developments related to Israel.

Talks between the Somali and Saudi officials focused on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation, as well as reviewing the latest regional and international developments.

Also in attendance was Fareed bin Saad Al-Shahri, Director General of the Foreign Affairs branch in the Makkah region, who took part in the discussions.

The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by Somalia and Saudi Arabia to deepen diplomatic ties and expand regional cooperation.
