MOGADISHU [SMN] – Additional details are available from the casualties caused by an explosion on the outskirts of the Balad district in the Middle Shabelle region on Monday.
The blast was reported to have taken place in Qalimow village on the road between Balad and Jowhar districts.
Reports say the blast took place at a restaurant where government soldiers and other civilians were sitting.
At least three people were killed and eight others were injured in the blast.
The situation has been tense in Qalimow which is a subject of brief operations by the Somali military against Al-Shabaab.
