Acting Somali President Receives Qatari Ambassador in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Acting President of the Federal Republic of Somalia and Speaker of the House of the People, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madobe), on Wednesday received the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Somalia, Dr. Abdullah Bin Salem Al-Nuaimi, at his office in Mogadishu.

 

During the meeting, the two officials discussed strengthening bilateral relations, with a particular focus on inter-parliamentary cooperation and enhancing mutual understanding based on brotherhood and shared interests.

Speaker Madobe expressed the Somali people’s and government’s deep sympathy and solidarity with the State of Qatar following the recent airstrikes in Doha, describing them as violations that have caused widespread concern across Somalia.

He extended condolences and affirmed Somalia’s unwavering support for the Qatari people.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Nuaimi thanked the Speaker for his leadership in guiding Somalia’s legislative processes and reiterated Qatar’s commitment to supporting Somalia’s state-building efforts.

He noted that Doha is determined to deepen the historic and strategic ties between the two nations.

The Acting President welcomed the growing friendship between Somalia and Qatar, emphasizing the Somali government’s desire to expand cooperation across various sectors.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Madobe expressed gratitude for Qatar’s consistent support to the Somali people and government, highlighting the enduring partnership between the two countries.
