BULA HAJI, Somalia – In a bold move to reassure the residents of Bulo Haji, President Ahmed Madobe of the Jubbaland administration has promised that government forces and those from the administration who recently liberated the area will not be returning.

During a visit to Bulo Haji, located 90 kilometers west of Kismayo City, President Madobe addressed the residents and pledged to deliver essential government services that have been lacking.

“I have come to you this morning to assure you that we will not abandon you, and you will receive the government services you deserve, such as education, healthcare, and access to clean water,” stated President Madobe.

He further emphasized the government’s commitment to the area, stating, “The people of Bulo Hajo, the government has come to a feast, and now they cannot be sued by Al-Shabaab, nor can they deal with them.”

Bulo Haji has been under the control of Al-Shabaab for an extended period, but government forces, including the elite Danab and Dervishes from Jubbaland, successfully drove out the militants just a few days ago.

President Madobe’s visit and promise signal a significant shift in the region, as the government seeks to consolidate its gains and provide much-needed services to the people of Bulo Haji.
